Up and coming model-turned actress Thanh Hang is launching a nude photo collection as a part of an art exhibit called Giao thoa (The Interference).

“We are still looking for a suitable venue and choosing the right time to launch the exhibit, but it’s coming very soon,” says Hang, adding that a large part of the exhibit’s profits will go to charity.

Nude photography is still a controversial art form in Vietnam but Hang hopes her exhibit will make a difference by showcasing its artistic merits.

“Nude art and nudity are horses of different colors, it’s like how rice is different from rice gruel. A picture’s merit should be judged on how it has been captured,” says Hang. They (Hang and Hai) know exactly what they are aiming at, she adds.

The 25-year-old artist has gained confidence after seven years of modeling, and her acting has blossomed as well. Hang wowed thousands of cinema goers last year with the blockbuster Nu hon than chet (Kiss of Death).

“I am 100 percent comfortable with my appearance, and I will be even when I am eighty years old!” says Hang.

The 2008 Mai Vang (Golden Apricot) Best Actress of the Year says she will also launch her first album at the exhibition. She hopes to give her fans something fresh through her cooperative venture with composer Duong Khac Linh and singer Ha Anh Tuan.
