Two pretty singers have been nominated for the “Singer of the Year” title. This is the fourth time the Dedication Award has been presented to recognise the contributions of singers in a year.

Economic slowdown in 2008 influenced investment in the music market and the quality of music products. However, the Sports and Culture Newspaper, the organiser of Dedication Award, said there still were singers who gained big success to prove their positions in 2008.

Ho Ngoc Ha and My Tam had very good and busy years in their careers. The two also won some music awards. The two female singers will compete against male singers Duc Tuan and Ha Anh Tuan and rock band Unlimited for the “Singer of the Year” title.

Around 100 reporters who cover the cultural field cast ballots for the Dedication Awards. The awards ceremony will take place at 7.30pm, March 11 at the HCM City Theatre.
