By February 10, the deadlines for film producers to register their films to the Golden Kite Awards competition, and the organizing board received six submissions.

A scene from “Untitled Love Story”.

They are “Moon at the Bottom of the Well” from the Liberation Film, “Saving the Death” from Galaxy Film, “Beautiful in Every Centimeter” from BHD Company, “The Owl and the Sparrow” from Chanh Phuong Film, “The Legend Is Alive” from Phuoc Sang Film, and “Untitled Love Story” from Prodigy Film. These movies were produced in 2008.

This year, the organizers will present a new award to the best film which is produced by Vietnamese film firms and foreign partners. These films must have at least 51% of foreign capital or have a foreign (overseas Vietnamese) script editor.

The organizing board has received a copy of “Moon at the Bottom of the Well.” The other film producers have not sent their works to the board because their films are still at box offices or are about to come to screens.

There is a big change which is out of the organizers’ plan. The Golden Kite Awards Ceremony 2009 will be organized on the evening of March 1 instead of March 14 to match the Vietnam Television’s live broadcast schedule.

The Jury of the Golden Kite Award for cellulo feature films will work in the last week of February (February 22-28).
