Look At Vietnam – The US Embassy in Vietnam launched a photo competition on Feb. 9, entitled “HIV in Your Eyes,” which aims to raise awareness of HIV-related issues among university and college students.

The contest also expects to promote increased student involvement in activities to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam.

Entrants are requested to submit photos that creatively illustrate ways to tackle the discrimination suffered by those who live with HIV and portray ways in which those who are HIV-positive can lead normal and productive lives.

Entries may also depict student awareness of HIV-related matters and student involvement in HIV-related activities.

The competition is open from Feb. 15 - March 15. Shortlisted photos will be exhibited at the National Library for a week prior to an awards ceremony for the winning entries, which is scheduled to take place in Hanoi in April.

Since 2004, the US has provided more than 232 million USD for anti-HIV programmes in Vietnam via the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
