Fred Whitehurts, an American former secret agent who saved the Dang Thuy Tram diary from fire in Duc Pho in 1970 and preserved the diary for 35 years, will come to Hanoi.

Fred Whitehurts and Ted Englemen, a US veteran who returned to Vietnam to hand the diary to Dang Thuy Tram’s family in 2005, will tell their memories about this diary in a talk at 7pm, March 20 at Bookworm, 2 Yen The, Hanoi.

The talk aims to convey the destruction of war and deliver the message: “Let’s stop war”.

Dang Thuy Tram’s Diary was a best-seller in 2005 and was translated into English by Andrew Pham.
