HCMC festival brings together local, Viet Kieu artists

A two-day festival of music comedy and fashion will gather Vietnamese performers from home and abroad in Ho Chi Minh City. | |||||||
| Beginning today at the Hoa Binh Theater in District 10, Quang Dung, Cam Van and several other local singers welcome home expatriate singers including Phuong Dung, Manh Quynh, Duy Quang and Loan Chau. Comedians Hoai Linh and Chi Tai, popular among Vietnamese overseas communities, share the stage with local counterparts Hong Van and Minh Nhi. The festival, which features Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy, also sees the return of two winners of MFC Mediaâs Miss Vietnam Global: Jennifer Le in 2007 and Donna Vo in 2008. The festival introduces two local fashion collections, showcased by award-winning models Vu Thu Phuong and Binh Minh and 18 other top runway favorites. The United States branch of MFC Media and HCMC Television organize the event, which is recorded live today and tomorrow for DVD. Reported by Da Ly | |||||||
