Vietnam to have copy right association

The Literary Copyright Centre under the Vietnam Writer Association is preparing for the establishment of the Copy Right Association in Vietnam.

This organization will be responsible for granting copyright for the use of copyright protected documents and granting the copyright certificates

The Director of the Literary Copyright Centre, Doan Thi Lam Luyen, said Vietnamese people freely copy documents and books without asking for the authors’ permission, while copying in itself is plagiarism.

Creating a large volume of illegal copies has affected the interest of authors. Luyen said whenever Vietnam doesn’t have an association controlling copyright, copyright protection over publications will still be seriously violated.
