Le Tan Sitek, an overseas Vietnamese architect, will introduce her book entitled Mot Minh Tren Duong (Alone on the road) in Vietnamese language at the East West Culture and Language Centre in Hanoi on March 19.
Bui Ly Le Tan was born in 1939 in China. She lived six years in China, ten years in Vietnam, twelve years in Poland, and has been in Norway since 1967. She got married in 1962 and became Le Tan Sitek.
She graduated from the Politechnika Gdanska University in Poland. She has worked as an architect for more than 40 years. Besides her primary job, Le Tan Sitek is very keen on collecting and writing about the arts.
“Alone on the road,” published by the Writer Association Publishing and the East West Culture and Language Centre in March 2009, is a story about a little girl named An, or the author herself, in a rural village in the ware of resistance against French colonialists.
This is also the story about the author’s love for her home country and the native language.
In 2003, the Art Publishing House published a Le Tan Sitek’s book about arts, entitled “Suu va Tam” (Collecting). After “Alone on the road,” Le Tan Sitek planed to write two more books about An’s overseas life.
