An upcoming concert will recreate three famous works of Mozart and Franz Joseph Haydn for Ho Chi Minh City audiences from June 5-7 at the HCMC Conservatory of Music.

The “Haydn & Mozart – Great Composers of Vienna” show will feature the composers’ finest pieces written for mass and choral performances including Haydn’s “Te Deum in C” and “Paukenmesse,” also known as “Mass in Time of War” or “Mass No. 9 in C major.”

Mozart’s “Symphony No. 40 in G minor” will also be performed by singers from the HCMC International Choir (HIC) and the HCMC Ballet and Symphony Orchestra.

Guest performers from Wales and Australia – soprano Kara Florish, mezzo soprano Maeve Duddy and bass/baritone Laurence Pulley – will join the concert.

Florish and Duddy have trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Pulley has taught in various music schools in Australia and received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1991 for his contributions to music and youth development.

The HIC comprises expats from many countries who are living and working in the city. The choir was behind the success of the Broadway musical “Annie Get Your Gun” last November.

Concert tickets are available for VND150,000-350,000 (US$8.43- 19.67) at the conservatory, 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1; the Tourist Information Center at 4G-4H Le Loi Street, District 1; and the Mekong Merchant café at 23 Thao Dien Street, District 2.

Group bookings will receive a discount and can be reserved via email at: amauryleblan@hcm.vnn.vn or phone 0903 930 907.
