In a time when the catwalk is not so popular, many models are trying to move to music stages. At present, not only female, but male models are also testing their voices on stage.

All models tell the media that they want to move from the catwalk to the stage because they love music or they want to test their ability in a new field. Nobody says frankly that they are attracted by the money and the fame that they can get from the music business.

Chinese-Vietnamese Hua Vi Van was a very promising model when he suddenly chose a new road: becoming a singer. At the beginning, he covered songs by his close friend, singer Hien Thuc. After that, he chose the pop ballad as his music genre.

In the past year, Hua Vi Van has turned to jazz music but the change hasn’t helped improve his position because jazz is not a popular genre. Moreover, jazz requires singers to have good vocal skills and knowledge of musical theory, both of which Hua Vi Van is still weak in. In nearly five years bouncing between music stages, Hua Vi Van has released only two albums, which are said to be not very outstanding.

Vietnamese-American Nathan Lee Truc Lam, a promising male model in the US, decided to return home to work as a singer. Nathan Lee cooperated with singer Thu Minh to write some songs on Thu Minh’s “I Do” album, but this good-looking model-singer hasn’t put out a solo album.

Model Trung Cuong hasn’t completely quit his modelling job like Hua Vi Van or Nathan Lee Truc Lam, singing is his sub-career. He sometimes sings at charity shows.

From being a footballer on The Cong club, then a model with Elite Vietnam, an actor, a TV show host, Tuan Tu suddenly released an album with his elder brother, singer Phan Anh. Tuan Tu also stated he would become a singer. Explaining his decision, Tuan Tu said that singing is a different way to express his feelings.

Model Thanh Thuc made a similar decision and he chose country music. He said that he was born and grew up in the southern province of Tra Vinh and he was absorbed by folk songs.

Model Quang Hoa recently grouped with two other men to set up Newmen. However, this band disbanded after one month.

Many other male models are practicing singing to become singers when they have a chance.

When the catwalk is not popular, the music stage is a natural choice for many models, but it might be best for all if they considered whether they really had a talent for music before they made a change.
