An exhibition, including photographs and documents, highlighting the crime and cruelty of jailors in Phu Quoc jail are being displayed at the Ho Chi Minh City War Remaints Museum.

The exhibition, “Phu Quoc Jail Crime,” which remembers the American War in Vietnam, is being held by the museum and Vietnam Liaison Committee for Former Prisoners of War.

Most exhibits are photographs taken during the war and aims to reflect the crimes and cruelty of jailors against prisoners in Phu Quoc jail.

The exhibition also honors and highlights the soldiers’ resolve and resilience during torture.

Ex-prisoners visited the museum to burn incense in memory of martyrs, as well as look back on the war and the severe hardships at Phu Quoc jail.

The exhibition will last until July 18.

According to Huynh Ngoc Van, deputy director of the museum, the number of visitors in the first three months increased 20 percent compared to the same period last year.

On special national events, it usually welcomes a large number of visitors.

At present, 14,000 objects and 10,000 pictures on the Vietnam War are on display at the museum.
