Musicians will come together to raise money at a one-night-only classical concert, “Moments of love,” in Ho Chi Minh City on June 26.

The concert, at the Saigon Opera House, features various immortal musical works by world renowned composers, such as Schubert, Bach, Chopin and Liszt.

The works are covered by lecturers and students from Ho Chi Minh City’s Conservatory of Music, including “Meritorious Artiste” Anh Tuyet, Ly Giai Hoa (photo), Hoang Anh Tu, Tran Hoai Phuong, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Anh and Nguyen Tuan Loc.

All proceeds will be donated to the Operation Smile fund, an international children’s charity treating facial deformities.

Operation Smile expects money raised from the event to help pay for 2,000 operations in November.

This is also the motivation for the Minh Nguyen Piano Boutique, who raised the idea and planned the concert.

The concert will start at 8pm. Tickets cost VND250,000 (US$14) and VND200,000 ($11).

“Moments of love” also marks the 20th anniversary of Operation Smile in Vietnam.

Since 1989, the U.S. based organization has provided free facial operation to 13,000 children and young people in the country.
