Singer-songwriter Le Cat Trong Ly will perform in the “Let’s Play” concert at Idecaf on Saturday evening

Rock, jazz, hip-hop, pop and folk music are what professional and amateur musicians from Vietnam and abroad are bringing to Ho Chi Minh City this Saturday evening.

The annual music festival called “Let’s Play!” has passed through more than 120 countries on its journey to the local Institute of Cultural Exchange with France, better known as Idecaf.

French and American artists including Chouchen, Konlat Rikrille, Dr. JP and Collette’s Band will share the outdoor stage with students from Le Hong Phong and Gia Dinh high schools, Van Lang University and other city schools.

One of Vietnam’s top vocalists, Hong Nhung, will be there too, along with 21-year-old singer-songwriter sensation Le Cat Trong Ly.

With only her guitar to accompany her, Ly wowed the judges at the Bai hat Viet (Vietnamese songs) contest in January with her romantic ballad Chenh venh (Precarious), which was inspired by a fairytale and won the Song of the Year award.

This Saturday’s two-hour concert is free and starts at 6 p.m. in the grounds of Idecaf at 31 Thai Van Lung Street, District 1.
