The Guol house was built carefully with natural materials like woods, bamboo and rattan. Its roof is made of rattan leaves. In the middle of house, there is a big pillar symbolizing the village leader’s image and prestige. The walls are carved with scenes of C’tu daily life.

The Guol house is actually like a lively painting decorated with various patterns by C’tu artists. It is also considered a museum displaying stag heads, wild goats, forest chickens and fox tails. It makes villagers feel proud of their own special culture.

Bhiriu Po, one of the best C’tu artists who made 300 works in the Guol house in Arah village in Lang commune, said that all his works were simply manipulations of natural forest materials. He added that his talent was handed down from his father, a famous Guol sculptural artist in Tay Giang.

“To save and promote Guol’s traditional beauty and make it a C’tu cultural characteristic, locals have built a block of Guol houses right at the center of the district as a venue for meetings, festivals and a place to welcome tourists. We are developing it as an indigenous tourist product” said Bhiriu Liec.
