At the Nha Trang Cultural, Art and Tourism College in the central province of Khanh Hoa, nearly 700 people tried bowls of pho from a 1.2m high pho pot on June 8.

Visitors were present at the Nha Trang Cultural, Art and Tourism College at 4 pm to see the job of cooks and wait for hot bowls of pho.

Two cook helpers put more coal into the cooker.

A cook put consommé from the giant pot into a small pot to serve visitors.

Other materials like bean sprouts and raw vegetables were contained in big bamboo baskets.

French chef Marc Foucher is an expert on Vietnamese cuisines and he loves pho very much. He and his Vietnamese wife often eat pho at home and restaurants. “About Vietnamese pho, I can only say that it is a nutritious, simple and charming-flavored cuisine,” he said.

Cooks used 450kg of cow bones and 125kg of beef to make consommé.

Other materials were selected carefully.

Visitors could choose different kinds of pho.

Ms. Ho Minh Thuong (yellow), a Nha Trang resident, said the pho was very delicious.

Besides the largest pho pot in Vietnam, another record was announced at the Nha Trang Cultural, Art and Tourism College on June 8: the biggest traditional orchestra with around 150 instrumentalists. Visitors both tasted pho and listened to traditional music.
