Director sets the stage for own funeral

Huynh Phuc Dien was born in 1970 in the southern province of Vinh Long. He graduated from the HCM City School for Stage and Movies. He was a famous music director in Vietnam. He suffered from liver cancer for two years and was treated in Singapore for several months.

Some music shows directed by Huynh Phuc Dien earned him a deal of recognition, including Lan Song Xanh (Blue Wave), Miss Vietnam pageants, and Duyen Dang Vietnam (Charming Vietnam). He also produced live shows for highly-regarded singers as Tuan Ngoc, Quang Dung, My Tam and Phuong Thanh. He won many Yellow Apricot awards.

After two years struggling against cancer, he passed away at the age of 39 with many projects still on the table.

The tribute ceremony will take place at 2pm, June 30 at the director’s home. His funeral will be held at 6am, July 4, at Binh Duong Park-Cemetery.

At Dien’s request, all offerings are to be donated to cancer patients at Cho Ray Hospital.
