Around 90 countries have agreed to attend the Mrs. World 2009 pageant in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Vietnam, this November. Twenty-six countries have confirmed visa for their contestants.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau set up five sub-committees to call for sponsorship, take care of logistics, PR, security, and other tasks for the pageant.

The chairman and founder of the Mrs. World Organisation, David Z. Marmel, said around 200 million people in the world have known about this event.

The final night of Mrs. World 2009, scheduled on November 22, will be aired live on Star World channel and nearly 70 national TV channels. The event will be broadcast again on November 23 on a branch channel of Star World and on November 29 on many TV channels. It is estimated that around 250 million people will watch the show.

In a meeting with Vietnamese colleagues from the national Vietnam Television (VTV) in HCM City on June 29, Star World’s director Jeffey Androsky said that the show will take place within two hours, with a 9-minute clip about Vietnam. However, Androsky said that he would double the time for introducing Vietnam.

The final night will be hosted by two famous foreign MCs.

Previously, the organizing board of the Mrs. Vietnam 2009 said that 200 contestants registered for the contest in September. Two contestants will be chosen for the Mrs. World 2009.
