Tat Binh, director of Feature Film Studio No.1, the investor of “Royal Chancellor Tran Thu Do”, affirmed that his firm and Duong Truong Thien Ly will liquidate their contract on July 21.

Thien Ly told VNExpress that she would announce the reason for this case after July 22. She said she was innocent in this case. “I have given up many personal plans and delayed my studies in the US to participate in this movie project. I am not willingly quitting the project and although I will not take part in this project anymore, I still wish the movie great success,” she said.

Other actors in “Royal Chancellor Tran Thu Do” don’t know about Thien Ly’s case. Hua Vi Van, who plays crown prince Sam, the first husband of Tran Thi Dung, said he was surprised by Thien Ly’s announcement.

The director also said that neither side will have to compensate the other.

“This is a heavily-invested project, which will be carried out over a long time. Meanwhile, Thien Ly can go with the film crew until the end of December only. We are seeking a beautiful, talented and enthusiastic actress to replace Thien Ly. Thien Ly’s departure won’t affect this project because the movie has only been shot for a month and the number of scenes featuring Tran Thi Dung is not many,” said Tat Binh.

It is said that the Feature Film Firm has invited singer Nhat Kim Anh to replace Thien Ly. However, the singer hasn’t accepted yet.

With investment of around US$2.66 million, “Royal Chancellor Tran Thu Do” is the largest film project in Vietnam so far. This is a project to celebrate the 1000th Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary.
