Model Chung Thuc Quyen, Vietnam’s representative at the Miss Tourism Queen International 2008 pageant, will be the Vietnamese entrant in the Miss Supernational 2009 pageant in Poland from August 20 to September 5.

Pham Dinh Thang from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Performance Art Department, which is in charge of licencing Vietnamese representatives at international beauty contests, said that as Quyen had participated in an international pageant already it would be no problem for her to get permission this year.

“I’m still nervous, but I’m more experienced and I’ll prepare better for this event,” Quyen said.

Quyen received the invitation over one week ago and she is now getting into shape. She will fly to Poland with a make-up artist, Angle Kiet, on August 19.

She said she is preparing a ballet and hip-hop dance for the talent competition. “It will be very interesting,” she said.

Quyen, 22, is a professional model with ideal measurements: 83-60-93. She won the Miss Photo title in a beauty contest held by Vietnam Women’s Magazine in 2005 and Miss Charity and Humanity at the Miss Tourism Queen International 2008 pageant.

Miss Supernatural 2009 will take place in Plock city, Poland with the participation of contestants from 80 countries. This is an international pageant held by the World Beauty Association (WBA).

Miss Supernational 2009 will receive $25000, the first runner-up $5000, the second runner-up $2000 and the fourth runner-up $1000. The top five contestants will also have diamond gifts worth over $10000
