A cai luong festival titled Da co hoai lang (Awaiting One’s Husband) will be held from September 29 to October 3 in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu.

Press conference of Da co hoai lang festival is organized on July 28.

It would be given to organizations and individuals who have contribution in art literature,Bui Hong Phuong, vice chairwoman of the province People’s Committee, said.

The festival would also provide the province a chance to showcase its image and tourism attractions, she added.

On the occasion, a commemorative house dedicated to the late cai luong composer Cao Van Lau, built at a cost of VND6.3 billion (US$354,000) will be inaugurated.

Da co hoai lang is an immortal cai luong piece written by musician Cao Van Lau in 1919 which tells the story of a wife who waits for her husband to return from the battlefield.
