Singer and former supermodel Ho Ngoc Ha will be the Vietnamese entrant at the Asian Song Festival 2009 in Seoul, South Korea on September 19. The Vietnamese representative last year was Lam Truong.

The first Asian Song Festival in 2004 attracted singers from seven countries. Last year the event had the participation of 12 countries. At this moment, nine countries have registered for the event, including South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Ukraine.

The host country’s representatives will be two famous bands, Super Junior and Girls’ Generation. Coming from Japan will be Gackt and Mihimaru GT. China will send the female singer who won a prize at the Asia MTV Awards Chris Lee. Famous singer Xiao Zhu will represent Taiwan.

Four famous singers of Hong Kong, Andy Lau Tak Wah, Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Arron Kwok Fu Shing and Leon Lai Ming, will perform at the festival.

Other countries will also send popular singers to the festival, including Chaotic band from Thailand, pop star Ho Ngoc Ha from Vietnam, Agnes Monica from Indonesia, and Ruslana from Ukraine.

The official list of singers will be released in mid-August.

According to Starnew, Asian Song Festival 2009 will be broadcast in over 30 countries, including the US and some European countries.
