Mrs. World 2008 Nataliia Shmarenkova Kamaliya will perform her singing talent in the final of Mrs. World 2009 pageant

A director from Star World, Jeffey Androsky, said that the live final will feature various images of Vietnam.

He also said, “Star World film crews have been recording some short video clips featuring Vietnam landscapes, historical monuments and also the Vietnamese. TV viewers worldwide will have opportunities to take a close look at Vietnam and its people, from the costumes, songs, the children and some daily activities here. This is to promote the impressive beauty of Vietnam in general and Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province in particular.

“Though the schedule only allows nine minutes of Vietnam on screen on the final night, we are trying out best to double the time to promote Vietnam to the world. Before the live broadcast, we will have 30 minutes to review the activities of the beautiful contestants during 20 days in Vietnam, including accommodation, eating and drinking, shopping, travelling, visiting some landscapes and charity.”

At present, the pageant has received confirmation from 90 countries for contestants.

As to why Ba Bia – Vung Tau Province was chosen, David Z. Marmel, chairman of Mrs World Inc., explained that the province provided everything the organizers needed.

He said, “Vietnam is a peaceful, friendly country and has a lot of beautiful natural sights. But, when choosing a place to host an international cultural event, we understood that only such place as Ba Ria – Vung Tau is the best choice.

“Besides the natural backdrops like the sea and the mountains, the province has a lot of beautiful resorts and shopping malls like Ho Tram Beach Resort and Spa, Anoasis Beach Resort, Bien Dong Ocean Park and the Imperial Plaza. Earlier, this place also successfully hosted the International World Young Chess Champs 2008. Thus, obviously this place can provide best conditions for the beauty contestants during their visit here.”

In recent days, Mrs. World Inc has been promoting images of Vietnam and its people around the world.

As scheduled, the contestants will have three weeks for photo and videoshoots in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, as well as some charity activities.

Answering a question about the preparations so far, Vo Thanh Ky, vice chairman of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province People’s Committee said, “The province has done everything to prepare for the pageant. Previously, we also carried out Mrs. Vietnam pageant with an aim to find two representatives for Vietnam at the upcoming international pageant in November.

“Currently, the province is renovating the provincial physical training and sports stadium, since it has been selected as the venue for the final night. The five-star Imperial Plaza is also carrying out some upgrades before welcoming the beautiful delegation in late October.”

Mrs. World is an international beauty pageant organized annually as a beauty contest for married women. It is originally based on the Mrs. America beauty pageant. Arranged on lines similar to other beauty pageants, it also lays stress on women’s opinion on marriage. It has been organized since 1985.

The 2009 pageant will take place in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Vietnam. The final night will be led by two world popular and well-experienced MCs.

The event will be broadcast live on the cable channel Star World and on other 70 national channels worldwide. The program is expected to attract 250 million viewers.
