LookAtVietnam – The first Film Festival for School opened at the HCM City Cinema Culture House in HCM City on August 26.

The film-making group from the Le Van Tam Primary School, Hanoi, introduced their film at the festival.

The festival is part of the “Movies for School” project, implemented by the Vietnam Film Institute, the Ministry of Education and Training’s Education Department and the Swedish Film Instituted, under the sponsor of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

The festival introduces 36 films, including 13 cartoons, 10 documentaries and 13 short feature films produced by teachers and students of eight primary schools in Hanoi and HCM City.

They are the Kim Dong, Le Van Tam, Doan Thi Diem and Yen Vien from Hanoi and Nguyen Binh Khiem, Minh Dao, To Vinh Dien and An Lac 3 from HCM City.

As these films are produced by primary teachers and students to serve the audience at the age of 6-10, the festival doesn’t emphasize on film-making standards, but the feelings and the ideas brought by the movies.

The festival will close on August 28.
