First of all, congratulations Vu Hoang Diep! What is your feeling right now?

I’m so touched. I can’t believe that it is true. I burst into tears for the great happiness tonight. There were many outstanding rivals in this pageant so I worried whether my dream could become true. At this moment I’m proud to bring victory to Vietnam.

Before the final night, you said that you would surely win a high prize, why?

Because the jury interviewed me several times. Both the organising board and the audience said that the Vietnamese contestant would win a title. I anticipated that I would get a title, but I didn’t think that it would be the highest title. I’m so happy!

Your leg was hurt before the final round. How did you deal with it to confidently perform in the final night?

My leg was hurt but I entirely focused my mind on my performances so I forgot the pain. When my name was called as the winner, all pain and tiredness disappeared. I was lucky to have my boyfriend here. He was the first to come onto the stage to share my happiness.

You tried your best to show off your ability. However, your friends said that you were successful thanks to your beautiful night gown and ao dai. Is it true?

That’s right. The red ao dai designed by Thuan Viet and the night gown by Son Collection were very impressive. Especially the ao dai – it was praised by foreign friends and the audience. They said the costume of Miss Vietnam was splendid and charming!

You also took Miss Talent and the runner-up in Miss Bikini. It seems that the jury favoured you?

I think all contestants have to try their best and believe in their ability and talent to win in contests. This pageant is fair for all entrants and the jury didn’t favour anybody.

Other contestants are also very beautiful. How were you able to be the winner?

I think this victory is based on all factors: performance ability, beauty, fashions and luck.

This title is a landmark in your life and also for Vietnamese beauty in the international arena. Could you share your experience in winning an international pageant?

Apart from the above-mentioned factors. I think that it is very important for a contestant to integrate herself into the community, to be open, friendly and dynamic with others.

Do you think that this victory will help push up your modelling career?

I hope so. This title will be a great advance in my future career.
