Young fashion designer Ngo Nhat Huy has agreed to design ao dai for contestants of the Mrs. Vietnam 2009 and Mrs. World 2010.

Huy said he would design around 150 ao dai each for the semi-round and the finals of Mrs. Vietnam 2009 and Mrs. World 2010. At the semi-final round of Mrs. Vietnam 2009 in HCM City, contestants will wear reformed ao dai. In the finals, they will be supplied with traditional ao dai, which are designed based on the characteristics of each region in Vietnam.

The Ao dai for Mrs. World 2010 will be traditional, using the two colours of the Vietnamese flag – red and yellow.

Ngo Nhat Huy becomes famous for his ao dai collections, entitled “Huyen Thoai Hoa” (Legend of Flowers – 2004), “Diep Khuc Hoa” (Flower Refrain – 2005) and “Hoa Nhiet Doi” (Tropical Flowers – 2006).

The semi-finals of Mrs. Vietnam 2009 will be held in Hanoi on August 22 and in HCM City on August 31. The final round will take place in the southern city of Vung Tau from September 15-27.

Mrs. World 2009 will also be held in Vung Tau in November. Mrs. Vietnam 2009 and the first runner-up will represent Vietnam in this pageant.

Last year, Miss Vietnam Dieu Hoa entered the top five of Mrs. World 2008 in Russia. In 2005, Kim Hong won the Audience’s Choice title in India. She is now a member of the Mrs. Vietnam 2009 and Mrs. World 2009 organising boards.
