Vietnam to join Beethoven music festival

The Beethoven International Music Festival annually invites a promising young symphony orchestra, and this year, this honour has gone to the Vietnam National Institute of Music’s orchestra.

The young orchestra of the Vietnam National Institute of Music performs under the baton of German conductor Christian Schumann.

The annual festival is one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world, held for the first time in 1845 in Bonn, Germany, the hometown of Beethoven. This event always attracts famous orchestras, conductors and music talents from around the world. This year the festival will take place from September 4 to October 3.

Before going to Germany, the Vietnam National Institute of Music’s orchestra will give one show at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of August 25.

Artists will play the Rhapsody Vietnam by Do Hong Quan, the concerto for violin and orchestra by M. Bruce, with famous violinist Bui Cong Duy, and Symphony No. 7 by L.V. Beethoven.
