Choi Voi is among nine movies vying for the Golden Kinaree Award, the official award of the Bangkok International Film Festival. Director Bui Thac Chuyen and Vietnamese French actress Pham Linh Dan are in Bangkok to promote the movie.

The first showing of “Choi Voi” took place on September 26 at the SF World cinema and the second on September 27 at the Paragon Cineplex Siam Paragon. After the shows, Chuyen and Linh Dan talked with the audiences.

After the festival closes on September 30, “Choi Voi” will go to Canada for the Vancouver Film Festival, South Korea for the Pusan Film Festival, the UK for the London Film Festival and to Belgium and Norway for two other events before it is screened in Vietnam from November 13.

The film will be nominated for the Golden Lotus Awards at the 16th Vietnam Film Festival in HCM City from December 8-12.

There is another Vietnamese movie at the Bangkok Film Festival, “Trang Noi Day Gieng” (Moon in the Bottom of the Well) by director Nguyen Vinh Son. However, it is competing instead for the award for a film produced by Southeast Asian countries.
