After leaving Venice with a prize, director Bui Thac Chuyen and actress Do Hai Yen are now in Canada to attend the International Toronto Film Festival.

The first screening of Chuyen’s Choi Voi, or Adrift, was organised at the AMC Theatre, Toronto on September 15.

According to Hai Yen, the show attracted many people and the film crew met with the audience after the show.

“We are surprised that Canadian audiences are very interested in our movie,” said actress Hai Hien. “They said that they liked the movie very much. They saw themselves in the film.”

According to Hai Yen, the Toronto Film Festival is organised professionally with a huge number of guests. All the best movies in the world go to Toronto, including Lebanon by Samuel Maoz, which won the most important award at the recent Venice Film Festival.
