Director Dang Nhat Minh and Minh Huong, the actress who plays the part of the selfless Dr. Tram, will take Dung Dot to Japan.

Its not Minh’s first time at the festival in the western Japan city.

The director took part in this festival in 1991, delivering talks about Vietnamese film and discussing his movies Guava Season, Girl on the River, and When the Tenth Month Comes, all of which are archived at the Fukuoka City Library.

Selected movies are archived at the Fukuoka Library, which has facilities to preserve films for up to 400 years. Around 30 Vietnamese films have been chosen for this library, including Bui Thac Chuyen’s Living in Fear and Ngo Quang Hai’s Pao’s Story.

At the Fukuoka Film Festival 2007, director Luu Huynh’s White Silk Dress was ranked as one of the top ten films and Pao’s Story was also praised.

Don’t Burn will participate with Luu Huynh’s The Legend is Alive at the Pusan Film Festival in South Korea in October.
