A 33-year-old woman from Ho Chi Minh City won Vietnam’s first beauty contest for married women on Saturday.

The first runner-up, 26-year-old Nguyen Thi Thu Ha from the central province of Ha Tinh will also join the international event to be held in the southern beach town of Vung Tau.

Dam Thi Ly, 27, of Vung Tau was named the second runner-up at the contest that kicked off in February with more than 600 applicants from all corners of the country.

The pageant was held by CIAT Advertising & Trade Fair Joint Stock Company in cooperation with Vung Tau’s People’s Committee and the Vietnam Women’s Union.
