Ly Thai To Square Garden will sparkle with Danish and Vietnamese vitality when the Hanoi Street Art Festival is staged on November 3.

The event is being organized by the Embassy of Denmark, the People’s Committee of Hanoi and the Danish Arts Agency for the state visit by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark from November 2-9.

Big-name acts from Denmark along with the Ca Tru Club of Thang Long, hip hop dancers Big Toe, experimental artist Dao Anh Khanh, singer Tung Duong and the

Vietnam Circus Federation will entertain the crowds without charging a cent for their services.

Danish Ambassador Peter Lysholt Hansen feels confident about the Hanoi Street Art Festival and hopes it will inspire the authorities and organizers to consider making it an annual affair.

Duong feels the same and is thrilled to be involved.

“This will be the first street art festival for the public in Hanoi, and I hope it will be held annually. I volunteered to perform free of charge as I wanted to be part of this remarkable event,” Duong said.

Young DJ Tri Minh will host the entire proceedings, which are scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.

Ly Thai To Square will be fitted out with one central stage and four in the corners.

In the hip hop and modern dance corner, Big Toe will perform together with the Danish dance company Uppercut.

The experimental corner will be reserved for Dao Anh Khanh and his prominent colleagues, the Ca Tru Club will occupy the traditional music and dance corner, and the Vietnam Circus and Danish theater company Batida will please the spectators in the fourth corner of the park.

Each act will flow smoothly into the next yet be flexible enough so that everyone can get involved in every single activity of the festival.

The highlight of the entertainment will be the evening show on the central stage with Duong, a host of dancers, some of Vietnam’s most talented young circus performers, and famous Danish jazz musicians playing at their best.
