LookAtVietnam – The final round of the HCM City Television (HTV) annual singing contest will kick off in the city next Monday.

For the final round, 10 shows held until mid-November will feature pop, contemporary folk and war era music.

The contest’s 12 finalists will perform songs of their choice based on previously selected topics and genre of music.

The judges will select the three best candidates for the final show and the award ceremony at the Hoa Binh Theatre on November 16.

For the last show, three finalists will perform their two favourite songs, and the audiences across the country will vote for the winner.

All 10 shows in HCM City will be broadcast live on HTV 9.

The contest was organised for the first time in 1991.

This year’s event attracted more than 1,500 people across the country for the preliminary selection rounds held from August 27 to September 5 in Ha Noi, Da Nang, Dac Lac province, Can Tho City and HCM City.
