The PIFF is among the top film festivals in Asia at present and this year the event will introduce 355 movies from 70 countries. These include 98 works being introduced to the world for the first time. This is also the first time three Vietnamese films have been entered.

Films on show include “The Milk of Sorrow”, which won the Golden Bear Award of the Berlin Film Festival 2009, “The White Ribbon”, the winner of the Golden Palm Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2009 and “Lebanon”, the winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

The PIFF will start on October 8 with a Korean film - “Good Morning President” by director Jang Jin.

The 9-day event is estimated to cost around $8.5 million and will feature movie stars Josh Hartnett and Tilda Swinton as well as X-Men director Bryan Singer. Josh Hartnett will come to Pusan to promote his latest movie “I Come with the Rain,” directed by Vietnamese American director Tran Anh Hung.
