Attending the 53rd Asia-Pacific Film Festival in Taiwan from December 17-19, director Bui Thac Chuyen’s “Choi Voi” (Adrift) won the Best Sound Effects Award.

Vietnam sent three films to the festival, including “Choi Voi”, “Trang Noi Day Gieng” (The Moon in the Bottom of Well) and “Dung Dot” (Don’t Burn). The only award garnered went to the French team sound effects team for “Choi Voi.”

The 53rd Asia-Pacific Film Festival attracted participation from 14 countries and territories with 58 films (40 feature film, 14 short films, 3 documentaries and one animation).

The Best Film Award went to “The Rainbow Troops” of Indonesia. The Best Script Award was presented to Hong Kong’s “Accident.” Taiwanese director Leon Dai secured the Best Director Award while Hong Kong’s Nick Cheung obtained the Best Actor and Taiwanese Zhang Rongrong with the Best Actress Award.
