Singer Duc Tuan had a memorable night on November 28 with his semi-classic show “Music of the Night” at the HCM City Opera House.

“Artists have many impossible dreams,” Duc Tuan said at the beginning of the concert, also his first live show.

The singer told his audience that opera had attracted him since the first time he watched it, when he quickly recognized that it was his lifelong passion.

His dream of having a classical concert of his own became reality with “Music of the Night.” For the young singer, this was not a regular concert, but a landmark moment in his career.

In the first half of the show, the audience seemed to be reserved in its applause, but when the second half began with two selections from “Man of La Mancha” and the end of “The Phantom of the Opera,” the HCM City Opera House exploded with uninterrupted rounds of applause.

British conductor Paul Bateman offered his comments on Duc Tuan: “The show is the landmark for Vietnam’s music and I’m proud to support it”.

The presence of this famous conductor is considered to be the big success of the show’s organizer. Contributions by audio technician, Colin Boland, also supported the concert.

Vietnamese guest singer, Ngoc Tuyen, and Canadian soprano, Genevieve Charest, played their roles well in duets with Duc Tuan. The show closed nicely with an English translation of the Vietnamese song by Cung Tien entitled “Huong Xua”, sung by all three artists.
