More than 170 personal effects belonging to rock superstars like the Beatles and Elvis Presley are on show at a coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City from December 15.

The exhibition will be on at Kumho Plaza, 39 Le Duan Blvd., where Vietnam’s first Hard Rock Café, a UK-owned global franchise, will open on January 23.

It features the costume worn by late Beatles frontman John Lennon when he performed the anti-Vietnam War anthem “Give peace a chance” in the US capital Washington in 1969, Presley’s baseball uniform, and a guitar signed by the members of the Eagles.

British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart’s jacket and a denim jacket worn by Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi, considered a must-have fashion accessory in the 1980s, are also on display.

There are photos, album covers of world famous musicians, and magazine covers featuring some of the biggest acts in rock.

Hard Rock International has licensed Viet Thai International Joint Stock Company, owner of the popular Highlands Coffee chain, to open Vietnam’s first Hard Rock Café.

Hard Rock Café is also the world’s leading collector and exhibitor of rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, sending its 70,000 pieces from restaurant to restaurant around the world, providing a comprehensive visual history of rock music.

It has 128 cafés and 12 hotels/casinos in more than 50 countries and territories.
