VietNamNet Bridge – Give Me a Ticket to Childhood and Pathology of Cardiovascular Diseases have won the gold prize at the Vietnam Book Awards 2009.

Give Me a Ticket to Childhood by Nguyen Nhat Anh, published by the Youth Publishing House.

Though it was criticized for outdated information, the grandiose book entitled Tong tap nghin nam van hien Thang Long (The Thousand Year Thang Long Collection) (Culture and Information Publishing House) still won the Grand Prize and the Gold Prize worth 15 million dong each.

Three books entitled Vietnamese Graphic Artists (Art Publishing House), Folk Songs and Proverbs in Photos (Kim Dong Publishing House) and Grimm’s Fairy Tales (Phuong Dong Publishing House) won the Gold Prize for well-printed books.

The Vietnam Book 2009 Award is the annual prize of the Vietnam Publishing Association. This year the organizing board received 343 books from 34 publishing houses and they chose 38 books for good book awards and 36 for well-printed books.

The awards ceremony will take place on December 20 at the Temple of Literature, Hanoi.
