Last year’s Vietnam Superstar contest winner Duong Thi Hong Nhung received her US$10,000 in prize money after she sued organizers for withholding it for three months.

At the Rainbow Media Company office in Ho Chi Minh City last Sunday, Nhung was awarded the prize and was given 11 days to decide whether she will go for free training in Korea this April, another prize awarded by the contest.

Kang Min Su, Korean director of Rainbow Media Company, apologized to Nhung for the “misunderstanding” between Nhung and the contest organizers.

Organizers also said Nhung’s fiancé would be able to visit her once a year. Kang said that if Nhung was successful during the training sessions, the contract between Nhung and Rainbow Media could be expanded for up to a decade.
