Vietnamese beauty Huong Giang has missed out on being among the top five girls who have the most beautiful faces of 2009 on website Global Beauties.

The biggest surprise is the absence of all top winners at international beauty pageants like Rachel Finch, third place at Miss Universe 2009 and Perla Beltran, the first runner-up at the Miss World 2009. Instead they have been replaced by contestants from national beauty contests like Brazil’s Isabel Correia, Ethiopia’s Melat Yante, Mexico’s Sandra Luz Vargas, the Philippines’ Carishiela May Kujpers and Venezuela’s Andreina Castro.

The Face of the Year winner will be announced on February 4. Last year’s winner was Jacqueline Bruno, Miss Massachusetts, who also scored a top ten place in Miss USA 2008.

Though Vietnam’s Huong Giang finished in the top ten, 2009 was still her successful year. She is praised as the most impressive Vietnamese contestant at international beauty pageants so far by ranking 16^th at the Miss World 2009. She is voted as one of the three most sexiest women alive in 2009. She was recently nominated for the Top Asian Model Awards but she refused to attend because she couldn’t arrange her schedule.
