A founding member of one of the world’s greatest hip hop groups, Jurassic 5, will perform and teach a free workshop in Hanoi this Friday.

With more than ten years and four albums under their belt, Jurassic 5 moved from the underground venues of Los Angeles to headlining stages worldwide.

Its founder Akil the MC is hitting Hanoi with fellow MC Hydro Phonics and UK DJ Tech 12.

Following their successful 2010 Southeast Asia tour, Akil and Hydro Phonics are set to bring the true spirit of party hip hop to the stage at Hanoi’s newest venue, Hanoi Rock City at 27/52 To Ngoc Van Street.

The stars will also offer a free hip hop workshop, giving Hanoi rappers a chance to hone their lyrical skills against one of the world’s best.

The workshop will begin at 3 p.m. and run until 5 p.m., prior to the concert, which begins at 9 p.m.
