The 7th annual Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day Festival will hit the city from April 7-10 to promote local tourism.

The festival, co-organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the city’s Tourism Association, will include an industry fair featuring more than 150 booths from 80 companies and 24 cities and provinces.

The event will also feature a photo exhibition about local markets and other sightseeing spots in HCMC, Da Lat, Mui Ne beach and the city of Hai Phong.

A don ca tai tu (“music of amateurs”) show will feature singers from all over the country performing in the internationally renowned Southern folk genre.

The event will be held in District 1’s September 23 Park on Pham Ngu Lao Street. Organizers expect to receive 200,000 visitors-double the number they saw in 2010.

The closing ceremony will commemorate Vietnam’s brand names in tourism and will be broadcast live on HTV9.
