Guests can enjoy gourmet dining in the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of Long Hoa Restaurant in Da Lat Town

Long known as the Little Paris, the famous central resort town of Da Lat guarantees lasting memories of a travel experience with its ideal weather and stunning landscapes.

One of the city’s unique attractions is the host of upscale restaurants that serve up local cuisine combined with Western dishes for an amazing dining experience.

A short stop at Long Hoa Restaurant provides opportunities to enjoy Vietnamese traditional dishes for the most discerning customers.

The restaurant, located on Ba Thang Hai Street just opposite the hilltop cinema, is a small bistro with a cozy atmosphere that attracts passersby. Step into the dining confines and guests will be drawn to the framed wall pictures and intricate wine rack that produces a feel of home.

The owner, a vivacious self-taught linguist, is very welcoming and will walk one through the various menu choices, travel recommendations, and the local lores in the language of one’s choice. Tourist will feel like a regular even if they stop in for only a few days.

The menu is grouped by ingredients and offers any kind of saute or steamed dish one can imagine, as well as a variety of hot pots and soups for the cold Da Lat nights. With main courses priced from VND15,000-100,000 (US$1-7), diners can enjoy excellent local fares with a French flair in an inexpensive fashion.

Be sure to sample the delicious barbecued deer with French fries. Apart from “the specialties of the house” such as Long Hoa spring rolls, lotus roots salad with shrimp and pork, and hotpot, the restaurant features a good selection of fine desserts including homemade yogurt, chocolate cake, banana cake and mixed fruits.

For something beyond the Vietnamese and Western cuisine, try the bistro’s homemade red wine offering an authentic flavor hardly found elsewhere. At the price of VND8000 ($0.50) a glass, the wine caps off the delicious meals and helps to imprint memories of a fantastic visit to Da Lat.
