Tourists enjoy a toboggan ride on the Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh Province

Even without a lot of time or money, nature lovers can take a short tour to Ba Den Mountain in the southern province of Tay Ninh to find some serenity. All that’s needed is a few friends and some motorbikes.

In their backpacks, visitors should have a “tool set” that includes a hammock, an umbrella, an electric torch and enough drinks for two days.

Ba Den Mountain covers 24 square kilometers and includes three small summits - Phung Mount, Heo Mount and Ba Den Mount. Going on foot to discover these beautiful sites is one of the main aims of a backpacking tour.

As well as conquering the mountain, visitors can also explore the Ha, Trung, Thuong (bottom, middle and top) pagodas and some caves that are used for worship.

According to Nga, a young girl that has travelled to Ba Den Mountain twice on her motorbike, the best thing about a backpacking tour is that you can choose when and where to stop and enjoy the scenery.

One of the best experiences she’s ever had was walking on Ba Den Mountain at dusk with a flashlight. The winding tracks and the murmur of the brooks will make your journey more delightful. Sleeping on the peak at an elevation of 986 meters is also unforgettable.

During the trip, tourists can also take a break and play with the friendly monkeys, take a toboggan ride or sample mountain cooking, such as lizard. Making the most of nature with friends and getting away from the bustling city are other reasons to take your rucksack to Ba Den Mountain.
