Tourists sightsee central Hoi An Town. A New Year’s Eve carnival featuring performances by foreign artists is to be held in the ancient town.

Hoi An Town in central Quang Nam Province will entertain tourists with a New Year’s Eve carnival featuring foreign artists.

According to Le Van Giang, head of the town’s administration Monday, the New Year’s Eve celebrations will include performances by hundreds of artists from countries such as the US, Spain, France and Australia.

About 12 foreign delegations will take part in activities, including music and dancing shows, as well as fancy costume parties to introduce various nations’ traditions, flags and totems, he added.

The celebrations, which start at 8 p.m. on the last day of the year, will take place throughout the town’s main streets and squares, Giang said.

The ancient resort town has welcomed more than 459,000 visitors this year, according to Giang.
