Chocolate, chocolate

They are small wonderlands of aromatic flavor that seem to let their fragrance linger in the air on Dong Du and Le Loi streets in District 1. | |||||||
Stop by Jeff de Bruges and Boniva, as the former says invitingly, “Dive into the heart of chocolate and allow yourself a treat”. The clientele of both these establishments, initially, were people in the high-income bracket, but the pull of delicious natural chocolates has been so strong that for many city residents, their offerings are the most romantic and popular gifts to give and receive. Jeff de Bruges is a famous French chocolate founded in 1986, and one of the most wanted in Europe. On special occasions like Valentine’s Day, Christmas or New Year, Jeff de Bruges is the gift of choice, given its high quality and beautiful gift-wrapping. Moreover, the rule that “the one who eats is the first one to touch the chocolate” bespeaks strict adherence to cooking hygiene in all its 240 outlets worldwide. There are more than 40 kinds of chocolate in Jeff de Bruges and all of them are fresh and have a high content of original chocolate, up to 75 percent. Besides the unique chocolate, Jeff de Bruges offers special ice cream and dragee (a French candy) that perfectly compliment the cocoa treats. Boniva is the combination of Asian and European styles by Vo Thi My Van, a Vietnamese who trains chefs for the Saigontourist company. After graduating from Emile Gryzone Ceria Brussells in Belgium, Van cooperated with a Belgian and founded Boniva in 2004. In addition to the classics like dark, white and milk chocolates and pralines such as cappucino, liqueur and almond, Boniva offers tropical flavors including durian, passion fruit and ginger caramel. There are nearly 50 types of chocolate which are priced from VND25,000-75,000 (US$1.5-4.6) per gram. The fresh chocolate of Boniva has an expiry date of 10 days. The shop has just produced a sugar-free product under the supervision of Belgian experts. Jeff de Bruges is located at 11 Dong Du Street while Boniva at 6 Le Loi Street. Reported by Kim |
