A decorative Libra Glass work

Established in 2004, the Anh Vu Nguyen Company is known for delighting customers with its unique brand of handmade glassware known as Libra Glass.

Renowned for their high quality and one-of-a-kind designs, the popular glassworks are sold around HCMC in places like Saigon Center, Parkson Saigon Tourist Plaza, and Diamond Plaza. The products are also displayed in Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers and Movenpick Hotel Saigon, as well as in opulent homes in the Phu My Hung New Urban Area in District 7.

Do Vu, the husband and also a former student at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, says the key to the company’s success is its unique method to create the glass pieces while expanding beyond the traditional colors of red, yellow, blue and violet. Libra Glass pieces are also embellished with silver fabric, sand, thread and rubber leaves.

“In Europe, glass painting is an age-old profession and the artists follow traditional rules in mixing oil paints. At Libra Glass, we combine various natural materials, so the products will bear an outstanding tropical style,” he said.

Over the past two years, Anh Vu Nguyen Company has exported its products to Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, and Europe. In addition, local mobile phone companies such as Nokia and Motorola have also used Libra Glass products as gifts for their customers.

The entrepreneurial couple has now set their sights on opening a coffee shop adorned with painted Libra Glass pieces in the heart of HCMC.

Libra Glass creations can be found in HCMC at Saigon Center, 65 Le Loi Street, District 1; and Parkson Plaza on District 1’s Le Thanh Ton Street and District 5’s Hung Vuong Street.
