Archaeologist to search for 3,000-year-old relics

| The excavation of a 2,000-squaremeter area at the Vinh Yen archaeological site in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa will be the second such exploration of the site, said the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Vietnam Institute of Archeology is working with the department and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the project in Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District. The excavation is scheduled to end August 31. Last August, the first archaeological dig at the site unearthed artifacts up to 3,000 years old, including 10 ceramic and rock structures, eight tombs and more than 400 stone, copper and terracotta items.
