A dish by French chef Philippe Mouchel to be introduced in Ho Chi Minh City from late this month

A French guest chef will dish out a host of classic and contemporary Gallic favorites as part of a five-day engagement at Ho Chi Minh City’s Sheraton Saigon Hotel late this month.

Philippe Mouchel will present a menu highlighting cuisine from his homeland such as pan-seared scallops with tomato fondue, roasted lamb saddle with orange and jus, and fresh strawberry soup with yoghourt sorbet at the Signature Restaurant on the hotel’s 23rd floor from March 21 to April 4.

Mouchel began his career at the age of 16, working in French Michelin star restaurants including the Hotel Frantel in Bordeaux and Restaurant Roger Vergé in Mougins.

He then went on to work for bistros around the world in Japan, the US, and Australia.

Mouchel moved back to Melbourne last year to open his French restaurant, “The Brasserie by Philippe Mouchel.”

The Sheraton Saigon Hotel is located at 88 Dong Khoi Street, District 1.
