Enjoy the clear rock pools at Yang Bay Waterfall in Khanh Hoa

Yang Bay Waterfall is a popular tourist spot in the jungle-clad hills behind Nha Trang, the main town of Khanh Hoa Province on the central coast.

Its name means “heaven’s waterfall” in the language of the local Raglai people.

Located in Khanh Vinh District’s Khanh Phu Commune, Yang Bay Waterfall and the surrounding land has been turned into a tourist resort named Yang Bay Waterfall Tourist Resort.

The waterfall is about a hundred meters above sea level and is the source of the Cai River.

Yang Bay consists of several falls which merge lower down before making a final 10-meter plunge into a pool more than a meter deep with sand and stones on the bottom and fish swimming through the clear water.

The water cascades from high above and makes its way through forest and over rocks as it descends into the valley.

Besides swimming and lying on the rocks, visitors can stroll around, go cycling, camp out, and of course eat at the restaurant, which serves up delicacies like stewed queen termites with medicinal herbs, roast or grilled boar meat, rice in bamboo, and jar wine. They can also try crocodile dishes.

Admission to Yang Bay Resort is VND30,000 (US$1.70) for adults and free for children under six, while an all-services-included tour ticket costs VND210,000 ($12).

To get to Yang Bay from Nha Trang, drive about 40 kilometers west from Tay Khanh Vinh, turn into the three-way Cau River intersection, make a left and continue for 14 more kilometers.

Every day, a bus from the Khatoco-Yang Bay Hotel in Nha Trang departs for Yang Bay at 8 a.m. and arrives back at the hotel at 4 p.m., but it’s only for holders of the resort’s tour tickets.
