LookAtVietnam – Jetstar Pacific will launch daily service between Hanoi and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho in the summer, about one week after Vietnam Airlines announced it would operate two daily flights on this route.

Jetstar Pacific will start its daily flight on the Hanoi-Can Tho route in this summer.

To woo guests, the joint-stock carrier is promoting everyday low one-one fares starting from VND600,000 for travel until May 21 this year on the route.

Vietnam Airlines now sells single tickets from VND900,000 to VND1.7 million for its flights scheduled to take off at 6:30 a.m and 2:30 p.m at Noi Bai Airport in the capital city and 9:30 a.m and 5:30 p.m at the airport in the Mekong Delta city.

The national flag air carrier is also planning to provide more flights from HCMC and Hanoi to other domestic destinations including Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue city, Danang, Haiphong, Vinh and Quy Nhon in this summer.

Meanwhile, the HCMC-headquartered airline Jetstar Pacific continues to maintain its 10 daily flights to Hanoi, as it started to fly since the Tet holiday, or Lunar New Years that was a traditional peak season.

In addition to maintaining daily services to Haiphong, Vinh and Hue, Jetstar Pacific is moving ahead with a plan to add one flight to the HCMC-Danang schedule which it flies thrice a day currently.

Jetstar Pacific now has temporarily shelved its plan to launch flights to Stem Reap and Bangkok. Previously, the carrier intended to delay the services until December last year, about two months behind schedule, but the current gloomy situation for the global industry forces it to call off the plan until further notice.

Jetstar Pacific is expected to receive at least one more new aircraft this year for network expansion if the global demand for air travel improves.
